Elegi Permintaan Si Murid Cerdas Kepada Guru Matematika

After read this article, i can draw a conclusion that teachers should change their traditional method of teaching to the innovative teaching method. Because in the traditional method teachers not empower students that must be empowered. Teachers tend to be selfish and seems like they are in a hurry to teach the student. Whereas students have different character that so  many of them can’t catch or understand the point of learning easily. In the innovative teaching method, the strategic means for teachers to be able to serve the needs of students that have different characters in learning mathematics is student worksheet. The student worksheet should be developed by the involved teacher, so that the student can use the worksheet for searching some knowledge to get some mathematical formulas by themselves.
In the Innovative teaching method , teacher should not positioning students as objects anymore, but as a subject. Teachers just facilitate the students to get knowldege. Teacher should gives opportunities for students to explore ideas and potential that possessed by students themselves. Students must be involved directly in the teaching process. Teachers should let students to discover themselves what they will be learning so it will be much easier to master, learn, and memorizing what they have already learned.  And then, last but not least, actually, knowledge can be effectively obtained from the interaction between the subject and the object, so that, its important to do discussion in the class.
I hope by reading this article, the teachers can open their mind to do the best to improve their method of teaching.

Classroom Reflection 1 (from english lesson on February 11th 2013 & February 18th 2013 with Mr. Marsigit)



In Mr. Marsigit’s English class, we have certain ways to participate in class. The first is the short answer test which will be held in every meeting, its can be about grammar, structure, vocabulary, verb, and etc. The second way is classroom reflection. In the classroom reflection, we just need to express again or rewrite again with our own words but more detail about everything that happened in class so we can easily understand the lecture. The third way is by the online reflection which we can do this by make an analytical comment or reflection of the article that published on the Mr. Marsigit’s blog (http://powermathematics.blogspot.com/). And then we can participate by make a reflection of certain reference that he indicate.

In Mr. Marsigit’s lecture, he stressed us to not just receive knowledge from him, but we must construct our english by ourselves. So, students must learn the basic english by him/herself by using the related reference. The student must have a believe that the lecturer just  facilitate them and the lecturer must believe that student by themselves are who learn the english.

            To learn english effectively, learning english should be an activity. There are many kind of activity such as to write, to listen, to make a reflection,  and ect. In order to do that, there are some psychological aspect of learning english.

Will –> Attitude –> Knowledge –> Skill –> Experience
            First, we should have a good will. That good will which we already have will be the spirit for us to learn english. To do something, we need to feel happy, we need motivation, vision and mission. We need to have a positive thought. After have a good will, we need to synchronize our attitude.  If we already have an eagerness, dont let it to be just a eagerness, we have to actualize that eagerness. If we want to be a good person, we must have a good attitude too. After that, we can get a knowledge, this knowledge will teach us a skill. Finally, with a skill that we already developed by ourselves, we can reach our experience. By doing a test like TOEFL, we will know about our ability.
            In the case of develop english on mathematics education, we need to study english in daily life. Because in a perception language is a life. There are characteristic of language in our life, such as reading, speaking, writing, etc. If we use english in daily life, we can easily memorize so many vocabulary that will be very useful in learning english of mathematics education.
            Last but not least, there are two component of language, the form and the substance. The form must meet the substance language. The example of substance language of mathematics education can be founded in the Mr. Marsigit’s blog that we can read and then reflect them.
            Our future is in our own hands, so to learn english is our choice.
